Where did social media originate?
The idea of social media first started soon after the Internet was invented. It started with the adaptive strategies of BBS, which is short for Bulletin Board System.
Six Degrees was named after the six degrees separation theory. This theory allowed someone to contact any two or more people in a matter of six steps or less.
